Renault Fluence 2011 India

With Renault officially coming to India and thinking of setting up factories in Andhra Pradesh, speculations are now on about which car would the French manufacturer choose for the Indian market. Well, the wait is over and Renault have announced that it would be the Renault Fluence saloon which would be presented to the Indian car buying public. This car would be launched in the middle of June 2011 in India.

Renault has added spice to this confirmation by saying that even though the car would be a CKD unit, it would be priced a couple of lakhs lower than the other executive sedans in its category like the Skoda Laura and Volkswagen Jetta. To cut costs, the company has added some local components. As far as styling goes, the Fluence is a far cry from the boxy Logan that Renault is known for in India. It will have the styling influenced from the Fiat Linea. Infact the Fluence is more of a curvier animal than the Logan. Built on the Renault-Nissan C platform, the Fluence promises performance with style. The Renault Fluence will also sport a petrol engine and Renault much abused 1.5 liter diesel engine as well. The diesel would now be tuned to produce a Jetta equaling 105 Bhp of power. Creature comforts would be for given in this French opera. Expected pricing for this car would hover around the Rs 13 lakhs mark for starters.

Engine & Specifications of the Renault Fluence

As mentioned above, the Fluence model will be rolled-out in both diesel and petrol versions in the Indian market. The petrol version of the car will come powered by a 1.6 16 V 110 hp and a 2.0 16V 140 hp engine. On the other hand, the diesel variant of the car will be carrying five variants including 1.5 dCi 85, 1.5 dCi 90 DPF, 1.5 dCi 105, 1.5 dCi 110 DPF and 1.5 dCi 110 DPF. However, Renault is yet to reveal the exact specification details of the Fluence in the Indian market.

All variants of the new Fluence sedan will come loaded with a new age dual clutch transmission, and the exterior dimensions of the car are – Length: 4620 mm, Width: 1809 mm and Height: 1479 mm.

Performance of the Renault Fluence

Loaded with a powerful 1.6L petrol and 1.5L diesel engine, the new Fluence ensures to offer a segment leading performance on the Indian roads. The Fluence is expected to carry sublime acceleration and pick-up characteristics. However, the company is yet to disclose the figures like maximum power, mileage and top speed of the car in the country.

Exterior, Interior and Safety Features of the Renault Fluence

The Fluence sedan carries a simple but distinctive road-presence. The aggressive grille boxes and pleasing shaped nose further enhance the aggressiveness of the car in the Indian market. On the other hand, the interiors of the Fluence would come blessed with a range of advanced comfort and convenience features that comprises of power steering with mounted controls, AC system with all side vents and many more.

The major safety features of the Fluence include airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, pre-installed head restraints and seatbelts, Front fog lamps, central locking and many more.
